Our #10 employee scheduling software is ResSched from Madrigal Software.
ResSched is mediocre scheduling software that uses its own set of terminology and requires lots of extra steps—without the help of a setup wizard—to create your employee schedules.
One of the first problems with this software is that you have to learn its vocabulary. For example, employees aren't called employees, but resources.
You must go to the 'Resource' section to begin the schedule-creation process, by inputting the names of your employees. Then you have to change to the 'Booking' section, where you assign all your employees a schedule. The last step requires going to the 'Scan' section, selecting the 'Single Resource' or 'Group Resource' option, selecting whether you want to view them by week or by month and finally pressing 'Go'.
If you get far enough to view your schedules, you can then print them off, color code them, define holidays and even specify whether your workweek begins on Sunday or Monday.
We found the schedule creation process of ResSched to be overly complicated and obnoxious. If you're considering ResSched, we suggest putting it into reverse and checking out #1-rated WhenToWork instead.
